DIY Acrylic Nails for Beginners Part 1
What You'll Need
- Acrylic powder
- Acrylic liquid
- Nail forms
- Nail brush
- Nail file and buffer
- Cuticle pusher
- Nail clippers
- Nail glue
Instructions
1. Prepare your nails by filing them to your desired shape and length. 2. Push back your cuticles and trim any excess skin. 3. Apply a thin layer of nail glue to the nail form and press it onto your nail. 4. Mix a small amount of acrylic powder and liquid in a dappen dish. 5. Dip the nail brush into the mixture and apply a thin layer to the nail form. 6. Allow the acrylic to dry for a few minutes. 7. Once the acrylic is dry, remove the nail form. 8. File and buff the acrylic nails to your desired shape and length. 9. Apply a top coat to seal in the acrylic and give it a glossy finish.
Tips
* If you are a beginner, it is helpful to practice on a fake nail before attempting to do your own nails. * Use a light touch when applying the acrylic, as too much pressure can cause the acrylic to crack. * Allow the acrylic to dry completely before filing and buffing, as filing or buffing wet acrylic can cause it to chip. * If you make a mistake, you can simply file or buff off the acrylic and start over. * With practice, you will be able to create beautiful acrylic nails at home.
